All pressure plates are built the same way with a cone shape diaphragm...... As you bolt the pressure plate down the diaphragm is designed to be just about flat for the highest pressure and it will decrease pressure as the disc wears. This is the only way it can work!!!!!! The only way the pressure can increase as the disc wears is if the diaphragm is pushed past flat and over the other side where the pressure will fall off quickly and this will also cause the diaphragm to fail early. If you measured a clutch that increased pressure without the step it was not made correctly no matter who made it. BTW: Nissan sells two pressure plates for the Z32....the True OEM one and also a "KEY LINE" Pyle of crap that is made by Dakin.
